Lauren Macarthur  –
Lauren spends her days nurturing plants, children, and fermentations in southern Vermont. When she was a child, she would draw on furniture or walls if a pen was in her hand, cut clothing, paper, and hair if there were scissors handy, wrote poems in the margins of her schoolwork. The urge for art has been in her blood always, (perhaps because she is the daughter of a photographer, who raced around in a minivan with his 5 children just to catch the sunset at the right angle). She writes in her sleep, in the weeds, while walking her toddler to sleep.
Lauren is a Gemini, always trying to balance her fierce pragmatism with her creative dreams.
She has a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Literature, and an M.Ed. She runs Whetstone CiderWorks with her husband.

Jade-BioPic

Jade Harmon – Sunday contributor

There is a wild creature in the trees just beyond the lawn. Its tracks are everywhere. Jade is crouching in the grass with her arms very wide, very still, and looking anywhere but at the creature. She does not want to spook it. This beast is her writing, once a tamed pet that fear and neglect sent running, turning feral. It has been many years. Will it come back? If she is patient, if she is quiet, perhaps it will stay this time, though she suspects it will always be prone to bolting. This project will be a way to follow its tracks.

Gabriella Mirollo – Tuesday Contributor

Gabriella is a poet photographer and fiber artisan originally from New York City and now enjoying lower blood pressure and untroubled sleep living in beautiful Vermont, where she is the only person who wears all black all year round. When not making pretty stuff, she can be found riding the rails, getting tattoos, reading multi-volume fantasy fiction, walking marathons and posting pictures of her cat on Facebook. She is every bit as impossible a weirdo nerd as this bio makes her sound.

Stasa's Bio photo
Stasa Bloomfield – Regular Guest Contributor
Stasa is an Unschooling, writing, wandering, storytelling, urban dwelling Mama who fumbles through this beautiful life with mud beneath her fingernails and tea in her belly. Originally from New York City, Stasa has a Fine Arts degree focused on creating artist books and watercolor. She spent years living in the Colorado mountains until she finally realized that she was more of a front porch sort of Mama rather than a woods dweller, though she still finds sanctuary in the nearby mountains and deserts. She has found that the right balance of silence resides between long walks through the city and a certain amount of solitude by mountain lakes.

Eva Marie Echenique – Wednesday Contributor

Lover of color, chaser of light, Eva Marie Echenique has been playing with film since the age of eight when her father first shared his prize possession with her: the Pentax ME Super. During this time she learned about aperture and the pentaprism. Growing up with weekly slide shows with the projector and her father’s visions shot on film helped to fuel her life-long obsession with capturing the incapturable, and instilled an on-going love affair with the spectrum of natural light. In the age of digital photography, Eva strives to return some of  the natural elements of film photography to her work and continues to shoot on her father’s Pentax.
